This place has something for everyone and the night scene is very diverse. Remember, Subic Bay and SBMA is the home of more than 75,000 people making it a buzzing place! You can find anything from huge malls, fine dining restaurants, cafe’s, live band establishments, clubs and gogo-bars (brothels). Many of the people visiting Subic Bay live in the Philippines (regular guests) and drive here to spend their weekend or holiday.

Fun day trip location for the Family

We went back to Camayan this past weekend with the family and friends.

I love this beach resort for several reasons.

1) Accessibility. Its about 2-3hrs easy driving from Manila, especially now with the SCTEX highway.

2) Features

a) Good clean beach front. The beach has nice sand, that’s not super fine, but is ok. I was able to make a sand castle and bury the kids in sand without much trouble. Not alot of beaches in the area with sand that you can do that.

b) Clean water, the beach is in Subic bay, so you won’t expect waves and stuff. the water is very calm and excellent for kids. The water is shallow for a about 5-7 meters from the shore which is excellent as the kids have a quite a lot of space to swim in, without going to the deep side.

c) It has fish, even in the shallow areas there is alot of fish. You can snorkel, and feed them break and they’ll come up right next to you. Great for kids, and people who aren’t strong swimmers as you don’t have to go far to see fish.

d) Price, at P300 per head for day trip, P250 for kids, and P750 or P1000 per cabana, its very affordable. (expect additional costs for grilling P100 for 2 hours and some other miscellanous costs, but nothing extravagant.)

e) other activities. Beach volley ball, kayak (P400 per hour – 2 seater), scuba diving, boat rental etc….

Its an excellent place to go with kids, for a fun afternoon of swimming. We haven’t stayed in the hotel, or eaten at the resto that is there. Over night is like P4000+ per night and the food at the resto is about P150-P200 per order. Not bad. We just brought lots of water, spaghetti and bbq.

We got there at 7am, after leaving San Fernando at 6am and going via Mc Arthur highway. We stayed until 3pm and were thoroughly exhausted from swimming, eating, snorkeling the whole afternoon. The kids were asleep by the time we excited subic. Great day out.

Notes; It is quite remote as noted by some reviewers. Its at the far end of subic bay, beside ocean adventure and near zoobic safari. For those looking for an adventure weekend, you may look into staying here a couple of nights and spend a day checking out the dolphins, whales and sea lions in subic safari – our kids love this. feed a tiger at zoobic safari – quick trill. and check out the duty free shops and other resaurants around subic bay. Don’t forget to buckle up, subic has strict rules, that they will enforce.

For those that are affraid of the water, theres a life guard that is always on station to watch out for the swimmers.
